Description
Old Baldy lighthouse on Baldhead Island, NC, was completed in 1817 for a cost of $16,000. At the confluence of the Cape Fear River and Atlantic Ocean, it was the first lighthouse in North Carolina. The octagonal building is made of brick and plaster.
